I grew up in multicultural Hawaii so very open to different ways of seeing and experiencing the world. I have traveled a bit including Israel twice, worked on a kibbutz and had an adventure walking the deserted streets of Old Jerusalem till sunrise when I got locked out of the hostel. I was one of the first westerners to travel to China as a teen and have been back a total of three times. I had traveled extensively for work which put me in certain places repeatedly - some places I'd rather not go quite frankly. For instance I've been to Dallas 12 times & Cabo 8!
Love movies (even the subtitled ones ;-)) NPR and checking out new music on Pandora. To be honest I tend towards being more home centric but not to the exclusion of some fun and adventure, love hiking and regularly take day trips in the bay area. In 2024 I've traveled to Paris and Hawaii to photograph and soak in the culture, beauty and excitement.
I'm interested in the “big” picture of life and looking at things from different viewpoints. Exploring meditation, eating natural foods and a healthy lifestyle. I’m not what you might call a hippie, granola type…let’s just say I’m an independent thinker and don’t believe that the status quo is always the best way to go.
Hopefully I can find a partner where we can motivate one another, share exercising and making great meals together. I expect that some excitement and laughing will be involved, hopefully a lot more than just “some”. I consider myself a work in progress and am fine with you being one as well. I think partners don’t have to be twins; they can both bring different strengths and energy into a relationship. I'm hoping to build on mutual attraction to take it the next level with a real partnership, caring and emotional connection.
Who am I looking for? Someone loving, sensitive, intelligent, kind and humorous (or can find humor in life). Not looking for perfection ... quirkiness and individuality is fine. Someone who wants to share a life of growth, adventure and love. Are you a big hearted, warm and accepting person? Get in touch.
Id like to find someone who really feels passionate about something in their life, whether it's their family, profession, hobby or volunteer work, etc. I find women who communicate well on a one to one, intimate level really attractive. Someone who has the ability and willingness to talk at a deeper interpersonal level. Put another way, I often read in profiles men and women are looking for someone "that just gets me". I think in order to do that you have to be open to and interested in really listening to each other and make that an important part of the relationship. Along these lines I'm looking for someone with whom communication - especially when just getting to know one another - is open, easy and straightforward. Arranging to speak in person on the phone shouldn't require complex back and forth scheduling, texting and emails, etc. Lets just make room for each other to develop the possibilities, ;-)
On pets ... love dogs but I'm allergic to cats. One question. If you met the love of your life (presumably me) would give up your cat? If you answered yes then we might be a match.
One last thing. I've found that when it comes to pairing some will exclusively seek those with similar or greater educational degrees. So in order to spare us both disappointment, let me make it easy for you - I'm a self made man. In my own personal experience this hasn't hampered my professional success and I feel like I'm in good company with my fellow diploma free friends ... Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Ansel Adams (high school drop out!), Richard Avedon, Sir Richard Branson, etc.
FYI - In the spirit of transparency and efficiency, I'm HSV positive ... if you are HSV positive we are off to a good start ... if you aren't that's OK as well but you should understand what being HSV positive means before contacting me ...
