Retired kind and generous old gentleman who never married and has no children may be interested in meeting a faithful, honest, cheerful, family-oriented, god-fearing, catholic lady to develop a friendship possibly leading to matrimony. Hopefully she will be able to communicate in english as I have few foreign language skills. I am a laid-back introvert with little skill for entertaining or amusing people. My beliefs might be called traditional. I'm a catholic and very serious about conducting my life in accordance with Our Lord's teachings and example.

I live alone in a two-story condo. I have one brother, one sister and many nieces and nephews. We enjoy each other's company and are all very comfortably situated. I like animals and for many years had two cats for company. I like to read (Jane Austen's my favorite, history, food, economics, philosophy, etc.), do crosswords and watch old (30s, 40s, 50s) movies. I have a big library of books, CDs and tapes.

Being catholic, I do not wish to communicate with married, divorced or separated ladies; nor those not currently living in the PI; nor silly, cross, vile, loud, nagging, or greedy women. I wish to avoid those addicted to drugs, tobacco or alcohol.

I do not smoke, but I do occasionally enjoy a glass or two of wine or beer. I do not curse or use foul language. I have no tattoos, piercings, jewelry or disfigurements. I have no facial hair, but am balding, as seen in my photo. And I am very old and frail. My eyesight is poor; so I wear glasses. When away from home I use a cane to steady myself as I walk.

I do not consider children to be a nuisance or a problem; they are a blessing. I like kids although I have never been a father myselt. I may prefer to marry a woman with children to ensure that her desire to have children is fulfilled.

I have no interest in going out to party or join in trivial mingling. I respect the customs, traditions, and practices of others. Joining relatives and friends for good food and pleasant conversation is my preference for encouraging welcome company and enjoying life. I think that occasional trips to other PI islands, and maybe Thailand, would be enjoyable.

My major negatives are my old age and being a diabetic. I do not take any medication at present.

I never use drugs, smoke, get drunk or gamble. I have never been involved in crime. I try to stay clean, neat and well dressed. My life has been simple, comfortable and uncomplicated. I have traveled to many countries and interesting cities because of my military service, working for consulting businesses, and taking enjoyable vacations. I have never been to the PI.

I am financially secure and can support a family and meet all common needs. I would probably accept the filipino custom of providing financial assistance to the parents of my filipina wife. My financial responsibility would include assuring that upon my passing my widow would be sufficiently provided with means for living in a reasonable and comfortable lifestyle.

If married, I'd likely sell my US condo and rent or buy a house wherever suits my wife and myself. I would limit my choice of location to the PI, Thailand and the US. I would probably choose living in a city suburb with easy access to a first class hospital and many well-stocked stores. Manila, the best prospect for real estate value appreciation, would be one of the cities I will consider for relocation.

Since being diagnosed as a diabetic, I have educated myself how to live a healthy life and to restrict my diet to healthy food and drink. Likely I'd encourage family members to also follow a healthy lifestyle.
I'm worried that there may be some difficulties regarding who does what in the kitchen. The kitchen is the wife's domain. But she will need my guidance to prepare healthy meals. I'd like to occasionally prepare breakfast, make the salads or fix some snacks.

My thought is that to avoid arguments and bad feelings, plan a weekly session in which differences and hurt feelings will be honestly discussed, remedies found when possible and relationship strengthened.

I would be impressed to meet a catholic lady who was engaged in church activities, sang in the choir, and taught sunday school. My wife and I might spend up to an hour a day improving our knowledge and understanding of the bible and other important catholic publications and watching religious-related documentaries.
