About Kevin
Location: Arvada, Colorado, United States
Other things about me: task oriented though sometimes I miss certain details associated with it; introvert; detail-oriented when planning for something; generally like to fix things myself unless beyond my skill level; I enjoy reading science fiction (Cussler), fantasy ( Ex. Fablehaven, Beyonders, etc.), articles from Answers in Genesis, and gun articles when not reading the Bible; and I recently started to get into the United States Founding Documents and leaders to try and understand the original intent of what our Founding Fathers were trying to set up.
Beliefs (there are more but these are the core ones):
I read the Bible with the mind-set of “what is God trying to tell/teach me.”
The Bible was written by men who were inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21, and 1 Corinthians 2:12-13)
God created the universe in 6 literal days as it is written in Genesis 1 and 2 thus evolution is false. Science confirms the Bible
God created man and woman in His image as described in Genesis.
There are only 2 genders/sexes male and female (Matthew 19:4, Mark 10:6, Genesis 2, Ephesians 5:28-32, etc.). That all the other “marriages” besides that of one man and one woman for life are against God’s plan for marriage.
I believe that salvation by Jesus is the only way to heaven ( Romans 10:9-11, I Corinthians 15: 12-19, John 3:16-17, Ephesians 2:8-9). And that He was the Son of God.
I believe that Noah’s flood was a global flood and not a local flood as described in Genesis 7.
I believe that we are in a Romans 1 time period here in the United States.
I believe that climate change does occur but by the parameters set by God since He created everything and is in control (Genesis 1 and 2, Job 28:26, ect.)
I believe that human abortion is murder since everyone (besides Adam and Eve) has gone through the pregnancy process and that life begins at conception.
I believe that disobedient children should be punished accordingly (Proverbs 13:21, Proverbs 19:18, Exodus 20:12)
I believe that there is only one race-the human race, that we are all descendants of Adam and Eve (Genesis 2, Acts 17:24-27) and that the differences (ex. skin color, facial features) is due to genetic variability.
I believe that God loves everyone and wants all to come to repentance regardless of our past (Ex. Paul- Acts 9, 2 Peter 3:9, etc.) and to not judge others by their actions ( Matthew 7:1-5)
I believe that God created the earth for humans to have dominion over and be good stewards of (Genesis 1:28, Genesis 2:15), but not to the point where it is abused.
No matter what God is first in my life (Exodus 20:3-4)
People and organizations who have shaped my worldview: my parents, pastor, Answers in Genesis, Focus on the Family, Dave Ramsy.
Current Skills: appliance maintenance, light construction, general car repair/maintenance, Bobcat operator (tree farm application), arborist,
My current future plans keeping in mind what Christ stated in Matthew 6:19-34.
Buy a house, though if need be rent until God provides a place.
Homeschool/disciple kids with a Biblical worldview on how to handle every aspect of life.
Keep working up at the tree farm (which is what Grandpa and Dad used to teach us kids work ethic).
Work toward the man as described in Psalm 112 and Proverbs 13:22a
Side Note: I’m unfortunately not into God’s word as much as I should be, I had to look a lot of these verses up though I know they are in the Bible. I added the verses because, just like a science paper has references to help support it, I want God’s principles to support my worldview and guide my life.
