About Steven
Location: Wallowa, OR, United States
CHRISTIANITY: I'm not a frequent churchgoer, but I regularly read the Bible and pray. In the future I hope to do more fasting, and visit monasteries where I can be alone in the presence of Jesus.
HEALTH & AGE: Yes, I am 67. But most of my friends and family who are in their 30's & 40's are not as healthy and physically fit as me. I run track and play tennis at the highest competitive level, hike long distances and eat very nutritious food. Unlike most Americans my age, I take no medications and have no health issues. If you hope to keep up with me, your health and fitness should be excellent! 😉
LOVE: Almost everyone has had their heart broken once (or more). I certainly have. But I'm not here looking for someone to make me happy. I wake up appreciating each new day, happy, optimistic and resilient. If you are unhappy, hopefully you will deepen your faith and experience the joy that awaits you there. My hope is to share days with someone who is as happy (or happier!) than me.
MONEY: During my decades of running businesses, I have been both wealthy and poor many times. I've owned many nice things. But material possessions no longer interest me. The simple life does, as it enables me to give more to those who are less fortunate. If status and the "good life" are what you dream of, I'm not the one for you.
TRAVEL: I don't travel extravagantly. My ideal trip would be spending half the time exploring the natural beauty of a country, and the other half working with the local Christian charity to help the poor.
EDUCATION: Although I was offered college scholarships, I chose to start businesses instead, which was, and is, my passion. Traveling to dozens of countries and reading thousands of books (98% non-fiction) has given me knowledge that is equal, or greater, than that of my college educated friends.
COUNTRY OR CITY?: I have lived in many big cities. London, Brisbane, San Francisco, Boston, Washington DC, Dallas, Houston... and visited dozens more, all over the world. I enjoy the variety of interesting people and places that are found in cities. But I have no interest in living in one. I much prefer the country, and want to spend the majority of my time there. My father was a national park ranger, so I have lived in some of America's most beautiful parks. Hiking, camping and growing gardens are some of my favorite activities.
If you've made it this far, thank you for taking some time to get to know me. May God bless all of you, especially those who may be suffering in any way. 🙏
