Have u felt when singing the National Anthem sometimes teary eyed and ur heart being pinched??? I often do... coz in my mind runs the sacrifices of Dr Rizal, the beheading of the 3 priest Gomburza, the cry in Balintawak, and the many named and unnamed heroes who gave their life so we can now enjoy this so called DEMOCRACY.

How do you celebrate this day? As a Filipino what do you think can you give back to your country in your own little ways?

What do People do?

Independence Day is a day when many people, including government officials, employees, and students, participate in nationwide parades.  However, the main highlight is the police and military parade in Manila headed by the country’s incumbent president, followed by a speech and a 21-gun salute.  Many Filipinos spend the day in parks and malls. Many Filipino communities in other countries also observe the nation’s Independence Day celebrations.

Happy Holiday everyone!!!

At present, the Philippines basks in the glorious independence hard-earned by our ancestors. We commemorate this significant time in our history to remind us of the strife and fortitude of the Filipino people who have to fight and live through the tyranny of colonisers to obtain a free nation.

As Filipinos of this generation, we hold the responsibility of keeping the precious worth of liberty by developing our nation further and propagating interminable peace.

MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS! GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES!

Today is INDEPENDENCE day!

The Flag of the Republic of the Philippines, representing the country symbolized by the following:

On this 115th Day of Filipino freedom & independence let's not forget the unity & oneness of our country above all be proud of your colors & race! Be proud to be Filipino!

Happy Independence Day to all the Filipinos all over the world!

Lord, today, bless those who have served and continue to give their lives for our freedom. With favor and bounty meet our needs and watch over our families.

Help us to live our lives in a way that glorifies you, Lord. Give us the strength to be a blessing in someone else's life today, and grant us the opportunity to lead others into the freedom that can be found in knowing Christ.

Amen

God bless the Philippines !
