I am a psychologist who has lived in Hawaii since 1986. I am divorced [since Jan. 2002] and I have no children. I love all types of music, watching movies/videos, reading, dining out, and, being in nature.

I was born and raised Catholic and attended Catholic elementary school, an all-boys Catholic high school and a Jesuit College in the NYC area [in New Jersey].

Life style includes that I am hard working and enjoy relaxing on weekends.

I believe in life long learning and personal growth. Being a man in my 50's, I truly believe that experience is the ultimate teacher and I believe that I have learned so many things about how to be successful in life as I grow older and focus on what I value as important in my life.

God is a basic foundation in my life and I pray often to God and to the saints, and, I attend church on a weekly basis.

At this stage in my life, I am seeking to meet and marry my future wife if it is God's will. This is a priority in my life and I take this as a serious matter so I hope that those who choose to respond to me are equally serious to be in a long-term relationship that involves marriage.

As a psychologist, I admire the quote of an author that states "there are 2 questions that we have to ask ourselves. the first is 'where am I going?' and the second is 'who will go with me?' ". As I approach the mature years of my life, I am seeking to find a life-time companion who is also seeking to address those 2 primary questions, and, that the two of us can grow together over time.

As a psychologist and a person who has previously been in a long-term, committed relationship, I believe clear communication and compromise is very important - as well as working together as a team to effectively solve life situations as they come up. This approach, I believe, can best be summarized in looking at the meaning of "commitment": that is, actions aimed in the direction of what you care about, even in the presence of obstacles... in other words, the couple work together to make it work NO MATTER WHAT- through the "good" times and the "bad" times... [after all, no relationship is ever without issues to face, unless it is a childhood fairy tale that doesn't happen in this world]... my role models for this has been my family members, in particular, my grandparents, and, my mom and dad who were married for over 50 years before my father passed away about 3 years ago. Now, of course, I surely do not claim to have figured out all the answers regarding relationships [especially since I was involved in a divorce in 2002], however, I do believe that relationships can provide a person feedback of what areas (s)he may need to develop in their lives, and, therefore function as a mirror and provide that person [and the couple] indicators/suggestions on what can be improved.

One last thing that I would like to add is that if you choose to leave me a message and I don't respond to you right away, please try to understand and be patient with me - the delay in getting back to you would most likely be because of the time difference between the Philippines and Hawaii.
